About: Company History
JJSteffen Design & Build, Inc. was formed in 2003. Prior to that, Jeff Steffen sat under to tutelage of two of the premier contractors in Central Illinois, Allen Schrock & Sons, Inc. and JM Holmes & Sons, Inc. From sweeping floors to branching out on his own, Jeff took notice that these companies paid attention to detail, communicated with their customers, and did not compromise on quality, and that is what has made them successful. It's the small things, the details, that cannot be overlooked.
In our opinion, communication, uncompromising attention to detail, and timely service are the keys to being successful in this business. Jeff realized that some of the misnomers about contractors are true. Many don't return phone calls, some walk off the job entirely, and others never return to finish "punch lists" because they have already been paid. That is why we strive to be accessible to our customers, compromise with them and for them, and frankly just do what we say we are going to do. We believe that by doing these things, and creating outstanding results, we will be successful and our company will continue to grow.
